Meet Reverend Larry Marshall
Reverend Marshall's Background
In November 2019, Reverend Larry Marshall began his ministry at Captiva Chapel By The Sea.
Reverend Marshall interviewed with our Pulpit Search Committee and, along with his wife Rosemary, visited Captiva Island in November 2018. Their palpable devotion to our Lord, along with their gracious demeanor and candor, confirmed to our Board of Associates, it was indeed time for our Chapel to open our doors to these two remarkable people...and Chapel by the Sea was exactly the right place for Reverend Larry and Rosemary!
Educated at Bowling Green State University and the Methodist Theological School, both in Ohio, Reverend Marshall has been with the United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. He retired from Hudson United Methodist Church in 2012 and has continued to stay involved with the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, serving as the Young Clergy Recruiter and occasionally preaching in that district, as well.
Pastor Larry and Mrs. Rosemary Marshall have been life-long residents of Northeastern Ohio. A retired Dental Hygienist, Rosemary has worked as church secretary at LeRoy United Methodist Church. They have three children and four grandchildren.
And so it was, Reverend Marshall's leadership began on Captiva, with his first Sunday worship service on November 10, 2019.
As a consequence of COVID and the Chapel's preference to conduct its usual search, Larry and Rosemary have graciously agreed to be with us one additional year - until April of 2023.
